Thanks to those who attended the 4th Annual Seward County Business Fair on June 16th. In addition to the 20 people who attended in person, we had over 190 attendees live online. Our committee is formulating thoughts on next year's fair, tentatively set for June 14, 2012, and we would like to incorporate your feedback. 2011 Business Fair to be held on June 16th

The 4th Annual Seward County Business Fair will be held on June 16th at the Seward Civic Center.

11:00 AM - 6:00 PM various resource providers will be available to consult small business owners and entrepreneurs (or future entrepreneurs!) free of charge. A list of the resource providers attending will be posted soon.

Sessions on marketing, financing your business, and using tax increment finance in Seward will be held at Noon, 2:00 and 4:00. The sessions will be located at the civic center AND live online for those of you who can't make it in person.

The keynote speaker at 6:00 will be Vicki Lieske, author of Not What She Seems, and co-owner of Victorine Originals, an online business based in Seward.

We used several social media tools this year to provide an opportunity for people from far and close to take advantage of the many great resource people and speakers we had.

2010 Seward County Business Fair Set for June 17

Are you thinking of starting a business? Do you have a home based business you would like to expand? Is the fear of bookkeeping stopping you from going into business? Would you like to learn how you can apply all the hype about going “green” to your business? If the answer to any of these questions is YES--mark your calendar for the third annual Seward County Business Fair on June 17, 2010.

The Business Fair will be held at the Seward Civic Center-Lower Level, 616 Bradford Street. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and experts from various business areas will be available to answer your questions until 7:00 p.m.

Throughout the day, participants can visit one-on-one with professionals about setting up the bookkeeping system; which permits, licenses and insurance are required for starting your business; marketing techniques; how and why to write a business plan; plus much more!

Dan Pickerill, entrepreneur and owner of Digitec, Inc. in Milford is our featured Business in Action speaker at 6:00 PM. Pickerill will talk about how he started his business and some of the challenges and key decisions in his company’s growth. Other speaker sessions beginning at noon and held on the hour throughout the day are: Legal Considerations in Setting up Your New Business; The Microenterprise Tax Credit, Business Coaches, Tips to Apply Successfully for Funding, and Engaging Your Business in Social Media.

Small Business Fair returns to Seward

Are you thinking of starting a business? Do you have a home based business you would like to expand to a storefront? Is the fear of bookkeeping stopping you from going into business? Would you like to “green” your business? If the answer to any of these questions is YES---plan to attend the second annual Seward County Small Business Fair on June 11, 2009. The Business Fair will be held at the Seward Civic Center-Lower Level, 616 Bradford Street. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and resource providers will be on hand to answer your questions until 7:00 p.m.
